After your massage your body may show some of the following reactions. These are perfectly normal as its your body’s natural

way of repairing and helps restore you back to your full well-being. Note - these reactions should clear within 24 hours.

To gain the best from your massage

It's important to drink plenty of fluids, especially water, after massage as your body may have been drained of lymphatic waste and toxins. Drinking plenty will help the detoxifying process and help to rehydrate your body. Other things to consider include:

Allow a few hours after your massage to relax and rest - it will make the muscles relax and make the massage last longer.

 

Keep warm. You may feel cold after your massage.

 

Take care when driving home as your reflexes might be slower.

 

Pay attention to general posture. Sitting and walking up straight is of importance.

Having a heavy meal directly after your massage.

 

Drinking lots of caffeine drinks or stimulants – as these can cause dehydration.

 

Smoking directly after your massage.

 

Rushing around or exercising vigorously, as your body will be in a healing state.

 

Ignoring your body's messages. You might feel faint, tired or thirsty.
