Massage therapy is a relaxing treatment that has been around for many years. The word “massage” comes from the Greek word “masso" meaning "to touch“ which helps improve the overall well-being of your body.
Swedish massage is the most common and best known type of massage. This type of massage not only promotes relaxation but can also benefit your body’s systems to enhance your overall well-being and good health.
Techniques used include a variety of stroking, gliding, kneading, cupping, wringing and vibrations to warm up the muscle tissue, releasing tension and gradually breaking up muscle "knots" or adhered tissues.
A massage medium of either cream, oil or talc is applied and used throughout your treatment to nourish your skin and leave you feeling refreshed.
Many people consider massage therapy to be just about pampering, and although massage is wonderful in helping aid relaxation – the benefits to your body are amazing!
